Nic Clayhills

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Mr Clayhills (Executive Chairman) is in charge of Australian operations, investment strategy, process and development. Mr Clayhills has been a corporate finance executive and commercial lawyer for over 30 years, in both Australia and England. His work experience and skills include: running client investment portfolios, managing a stockbroker dealing desk, bullion (gold) finance, corporate finance (fund raising, equity placements, IPO floats), compliance, due diligence, commercial legal services (structuring, contract writing, litigation, dispute resolution and deal negotiations) and property development. Mr Clayhills’ work history includes acting as head of corporate finance at Bell Potter Securities, corporate finance executive at Citibank, Barrister (UK), Solicitor with Linklaters & Paines and currently one of the Fund Manager’s Directors and a partner at Clayhills Escobar Solicitors. His clients have included high net worth individuals and corporates such as Boeing, Jarlsberg Cheese, Orix Capital, Macquarie Bank, NatWest Bank, ANZ Bank, many ASX listed entities including Gold and resource miners, medical device developer (stroke), managing funds and raising funds in excess of $500 million. Industries covered include: financial services, banking, gold financing, exploration & mining, airline, shipping, ADI / banks, infrastructure & hydro-electricity, medical devices, mining, project finance, VC funding, property development, advertising & media (online & newsprint), accountants & book-keepers, architecture, import & export, allied health services, beauty & therapy, charity, festival, recycling, retail, software, travel agency, R&D, security, sport & entertainment yoga & fitness, vermiculture and web development. He brings to the Fund a wealth of significant experience and expertise in Australian investing, portfolio management, corporate governance, due diligence and process, in both listed and unlisted equities, plus applied commercial law.

Catherine Escobar

CLIENT LIAISON MANAGER

Ms C. Escobar is the Client Relations, Fund Communications and Marketing Manager. Ms Escobar has been a government and private practice lawyer for 30 years. Her skills include communicating complex factual and legal issues in writing and presenting them verbally, as well as managing large teams and organising financial structures and property settlements and of course, negotiations. Ms Escobar’s legal qualifications and experience add to corporate governance and investment process rigour. Ms Escobar qualified in LEADR and Public Sector Management in 2003. Ms Escobar’s work history covers commercial litigation, insolvency practice, federal court litigation and organisational management. Ms Escobar is also currently a partner at Clayhills Escobar Solicitors.

JOYDEEP GHOSH

SENIOR ANALYST, INVESTMENT COMMITTEE

Mr Ghosh is a highly experienced and respected financial service professional in Kolkata, India. He has been actively involved in the funds management industry since 1997. His deep knowledge of the Indian market investment and portfolio investment and trading is of enormous benefit to the Fund. His expertise involves fundamental stock and sector research, financial audit, asset allocation, risk management, multiasset portfolio management, technical & quantitative analysis. His professional experience involves holding several senior management roles in the funds management industry in India, including roles as head of commodities and derivatives for Nirmal Bang (a mid-tier broking firm); financial research and analyst / risk management for HSBC India, investment research and advisory for India Bulls (one of the most reputed, listed wealth management company in India), regional head of Equity and Debt investments for Religare (a listed fund management company and Indian joint venture partner of Macquarie Bank from 2007 to 2013). Since 2014, he co-founded his own boutique funds management and advisory firm, specialising in equity research, fundamental and technical analysis, advisory, portfolio construction and trading for sophisticated investors, local family offices, expat Indians and domestic institutions. Currently his firm is managing a FUM of just under A$25 million. He is a registered financial adviser with the Securities Board of India (SEBI). He has undertaken his MBA in Finance, obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (business & finance), a diploma in business and is a CA (Intermediate). In 2018, he joined the Investment Committee and provides his expertise in market insight, market and sector research, stock analysis, asset allocation, portfolio construction and local fund management and stock / investment research. His expertise and decisions have played an integral role in the Fund’s success.

Investment Committee

Our Investment Committee is highly experienced and active with expertise across the Australian and Indian equity markets. This committee also contributes to our Australian and Indian legal, accounting, taxation and related requirements. The members bring a combination of bottom-up fundamental investment analysis, sector driven research, securities analysis, technical execution and performance review. Our Investment Committee member analysts have extensive knowledge in corporate finance, compliance, investment research & analysis, stockbroking, derivatives, commodities and portfolio management; with a combined experience of more than 75 years in the funds management and equities industries.

Nic Clayhills

SUBARNA SAHA

ANALYST, INVESTMENT COMMITTEE

Mr Subarna has over 17 years’ experience in Funds and asset management, stockbroking, commodities and derivative trading, research and analysis, portfolio construction, compliance, private equity and investment advisory. He has held several senior positions in the finance industry in India since 2004. Has was previously the regional head of investments / head of corporate investment advisory for Adventz group (a multi-billion-dollar Indian investment company specialising in specific sector investments). Prior to that he was the regional head of equity investments for Religare. He has also worked at India Bulls for several years as an investment advisor, catering to ultra-high net worth individuals. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (business & finance), several professional certifications in Finance and is a SEBI registered financial advisor. In 2018, he joined the Fund’s Investment Committee and is using his connections in the industry to connect us with broking houses, fund managers, custodians, legal, accounting and taxation firms, along with doing extensive fund manager research, equity research and providing market and investment advice. His contacts in the industry have helped us immensely in securing connections making the whole process of investing in India smooth and less cumbersome.

Rohan Kumar Saha

FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Mr Saha’s predominant asset apart from his connections in the Indian financial market is his extensive knowdge of financial instruments, financial modelling and stock valuation. His interpersonal and communication skills are also an asset to the Fund Manager.

He has been a consultant for Interactive Brokers  specializing in derivatives products / risk modelling and dealing with family offices and institutions.

Furthermore, he has several years post-University experience in online start-ups, particularly in marketing, fund raising, marketing and managing small, dedicated teams, in both India and Australia.

Mr Saha is highly motivated, hard-working with an acute business acumen. He also contributes by way of online research, social media marketing and creative thinking.

Mr Saha has a Bachelors degree in Engineering, a RG 146 (Managed Securities and Investments: General Advice) certification, a post-graduate certificate in Applied Finance and is currently enrolled in a Masters of Applied Finance at Macquarie University.
